Accreditation and Certification
Our in-house trainer Tony Differ is BILD ACT certified.
The BILD Association of Certified Training has been established to certify training services that include restrictive interventions. Licensed by the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN), BILD certifies services that comply with the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards.
Certified training that complies with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN)’s training standards became a requirement of NHS commissioned services for people with learning disability, autism or mental health condition in April 2020. The Care Quality Commission expected services across health and social care to have certified training that complied with these standards from April 2021.
The RRN Training Standards are designed to:
- Protect fundamental human rights and promote person-centred, therapeutic approaches to support individuals in distress.
- Improve the quality of life for those being restrained and their supporters.
- Reduce reliance on restrictive practices by fostering a positive culture focused on prevention, de-escalation, and reflective practice.
- Enhance understanding of the root causes of behavior, recognizing that many behaviors result from distress due to unmet needs.
- Ensure that, when necessary, restrictive interventions, including physical restraint, are used in the safest and most dignified manner.
